About CA Foundation
CA Foundation serves as the entry-level for the Chartered Accountancy course offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). This exam was previously known as the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) and is a crucial step towards pursuing a career as a Chartered Accountant in India.
Eligibility
The candidate can register for the CA Foundation after passing class-Xth. However candidates can appear in foundation exam after qualifying the 12th examinations.
Exemption
Candidates who are Graduates, Post Graduates and have Equivalent degree are Exempt from CA Foundation Exam and can take Direct entry for CA Intermediate ( Commerce graduated with 55% and others graduated with 60% marks )

Students who want to pursue CA Foundation Courses have to register online for the course. Last Date of Registration or admission for CA Foundation Course with ICAI

- Registration Fee for CA Foundation Course is Rs. 9,200.
- CA Foundation course registration will be valid for three years. Even after three years, you can revalidate your registration for a further three years by depositing Rs 300/- as revalidation fees.

Passing Criteria
A Student of CA foundation examination shall be declared to have passed the examination if he secures minimum 40% marks on each paper and an aggregate of 50% (200/400) of total marks.

Ans: For the May 2023 session, the last date of registration is January 1, 2023. For the November 2023 session, the registration deadline is July 1, 2023.

Ans: Yes, in papers 3 and 4 of the CA Foundation exam, there is a negative marking scheme. For each incorrect response, 1/4th of the marks will be deducted.
