Mandatory Requirements for CA Intermediate

In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), the Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India (ICAI) has recently unveiled the new syllabus for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) program. The introduction of the Chartered Accountants (Amendment) Regulations, 2023, has led to the implementation of a fresh scheme of education and training. This new scheme encompasses two pathways: the Foundational route and the direct entry route. These changes are aimed at aligning the CA program with the evolving educational landscape and ensuring that aspiring chartered accountants receive a comprehensive and relevant education and training experience. It will tell you about the Mandatory Requirements for CA Intermediate Course.

The Board of Studies (ICAI BOS) has developed a new CA curriculum, which is set to be launched by President Droupadi Murmu on July 1. The revised chartered accountancy course will now be referred to as the intermediate course and will consist of two groups: Group 1 and Group 2. It’s important to note that only candidates who have cleared the CA Foundation exam will be eligible to pursue the intermediate course.

Additionally, candidates who have successfully completed the advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills under regulation 51E, as well as those who have passed the self-paced online modules as per regulation 51F, will be eligible to appear in the final examination. They have become mandatory requirements for CA Intermediate Course. These eligibility criteria aim to ensure that candidates have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their professional journey as chartered accountants.

CA New Scheme : What is regulation 51E, 51F?

According to Regulation 51E, candidates pursuing the chartered accountancy course are required to complete an advanced integrated course on information technology (IT) and soft skills during the last two years of their practical training, without any breaks in continuity. This course focuses on enhancing their knowledge and skills in IT and soft skills, which are essential for a successful career in chartered accountancy.

Furthermore, candidates who have cleared both groups of CA intermediate exam are mandated to undergo self-paced online modules. These modules aim to further develop their understanding and expertise in specific areas of the profession. It is important to note that candidates must achieve minimum 50% marks in each module to fulfill this requirement.

These regulations have been put in place to ensure that candidates receive comprehensive training and acquire the necessary competencies to excel as professional chartered accountants.

CA Intermediate Admission 2023 – Mandatory Requirements for CA Intermediate

After completing a study period of 4 months, these candidates will become eligible to appear in the CA Foundation exams held in June or December.

Once a candidate clears both Class 12 examination and CA Foundation exam, they become eligible for the intermediate course.

In the case of direct entry, the following candidates are eligible to register for the intermediate course:
