Yes, CA is a difficult course to clear. The CA syllabus is vast and includes various complex topics that students find hard to study.

What is the eligibility for CA?

Candidates must have to complete their 10th and 10+2 from any recognized Board with a minimum aggregate 50% marks in any stream preferably Commerce. Furthermore, there is no age restriction to apply for the CA foundation course.

About CA Foundation

CA Foundation serves as the entry level for the Chartered Accountancy course in India, offered by ICAI. Formerly known as the Common Proficiency Test (CPT), it remains the initial step in the journey toward becoming a Chartered Accountant.

CA Foundation Eligibility

The candidate can register for the Foundation after passing class-Xth. However candidates can appear in foundation exam after qualifying the 12th examinations

Exemption

Registration Fee

Registration Fee for Foundation Course Rs. 9,200.
Foundation course registration will be valid for three years. Even after three years, you can revalidate your registration for a further three years by depositing Rs 300/- as revalidation fees.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the CA Foundation Course is divided into four papers, comprising both subjective and objective tests, totaling 400 marks.

Paper-1: Principles and Practices of Accounting. (100 – Marks)
Paper-2: Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting. (100 – Marks)
Paper-3: Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning & Statistics. (100 – Marks)
• Paper-4: Business Economics & Business and Commercial Knowledge. (100 – Marks)

NOTE :-The above two papers (Paper 1 & 2) are subjective while the later two Paper (Paper 3 & 4) are objective. Objective papers contain negative marking for each wrong answer 0.25 mark gets deducted and for each correct answer one mark is given

Passing Criteria

A Student of CA foundation examination shall be declared to have passed the examination if he secures minimum 40% marks on each paper and an aggregate of 50%(200/400) of total marks.
