CA Foundation eligibility criteria for the coaching for Sept/Dec 2024:
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. Candidates appearing in Class 12 examination can also apply.
- Registration: Must register with the Board of Studies (BoS) of ICAI on or before the last date for registration.
- Minimum Marks: No minimum marks required in Class 12 examination or its equivalent.
- Age Limit: No specific age limit for appearing in the CA Foundation exam.
- Provisional Registration: Candidates can register for the CA Foundation course after appearing in Class 12 examination.
- Study Period: Must have undergone a minimum of four months study period before appearing in the CA Foundation exam.
- Other Requirements: Must not have appeared in the CA Foundation examination under the old scheme. Candidates who have passed the Intermediate level examination or its equivalent from the ICAI or any other recognized Board are not eligible to apply for the CA Foundation course.

CA Foundation Registration Process (New Scheme)
Steps to Register for CA Foundation:
- Visit the ICAI Website:
Go to the official website of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). - Navigate to the Students Section:
Click on the “Students” tab on the website’s homepage. - Select the Course:
Choose the CA Foundation course under the “Course Registration Forms” section. - Fill the Registration Form:
Fill in the required details in the registration form, including personal details, educational qualifications, and contact information. - Upload Required Documents:
Upload scanned copies of the following documents:- Class 10 mark sheet/passing certificate or equivalent
- Class 12 admit card or mark sheet or passing certificate (if available)
- Photograph and signature
- Pay the Registration Fee:
Pay the CA Foundation registration fee of Rs. 9,200 online through the payment gateway provided on the website. - Submit the Form:
After completing the form and payment, submit the registration form online. - Receive Registration Confirmation:

The study material for the CA Foundation course will be sent to you by post after registration. - Start Preparation:

Subjects and Type of Exam:
- Business Laws and Business Accounting are theoretical type exams.
- Economics and Mathematics are objective type exams.

- There is negative marking for incorrect answers.
Mode of Examination:
- The examination is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based).
Duration:
- Each paper is conducted for a duration of 3 hours.
Number of Papers:
- The CA Foundation exam comprises four papers.

- Principles and Practice of Accounting (100 Marks)
- Business Laws (100 Marks)
- Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning & Statistics (100 Marks)
- Business Economics (100 Marks)
Total Marks:
- The total maximum marks for the CA Foundation exam are 400.
Passing Criteria:
- Candidates need to secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper.
- The aggregate pass percentage required is 50%.
Examination Frequency:
- The CA Foundation exam is held twice a year, usually in May and November.
Syllabus:
- The syllabus for the CA Foundation exam is comprehensive, covering various topics in accounting, business laws, mathematics, economics, and logical reasoning.
