Introduction to CMA Foundation

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Foundation course is the first level of the CMA certification program offered by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI). It is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in management accounting and prepare them for a career in cost and management accounting. The CMA Foundation course comprises four papers that cover:

CMA Foundation Registration Process

Step 1: Visit the ICMAI Website

Visit the official website of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) at www.icmai.in.

Step 2: Click on the “Students” Tab

Navigate to the “Students” tab on the ICMAI website and click on it.

Step 3: Select “Online Services”

Under the “Students” tab, select the “Online Services” option from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Click on “Students Portal”

Click on the “Students Portal” option to access the student registration portal.

Step 5: Register as a New User

If you are a new user, click on the “Register Online” link to create a new account.

Step 6: Fill in the Registration Form

Fill in the required details in the registration form, including your name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.

Step 7: Verify Your Email and Mobile Number

After filling in the registration form, you will receive a verification link on your registered email address and mobile number. Click on the link to verify your account.

Step 8: Log in to the Student Portal

Once your account is verified, log in to the student portal using your registered email address and password.

Step 9: Apply for CMA Foundation

After logging in, click on the “Apply Online” link and select the CMA Foundation exam from the list of available exams.

Step 10: Fill in the Exam Form

Fill in the exam form with the required details, including your personal information, educational qualifications, and exam center preferences.

Step 11: Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and relevant educational certificates as per the specifications mentioned in the form.

Step 12: Pay the Exam Fee

Pay the exam fee online using a credit/debit card, net banking, or other available payment options.

Step 13: Submit the Form

After successfully completing the above steps, submit the exam form online.

Step 14: Print the Confirmation Page

After submitting the form, print the confirmation page for your records.

Step 15: Receive Admit Card

After successful registration, you will receive an admit card for the exam on your registered email address.

   • Scanned copies of educational certificates (10th pass certificate or equivalent for proof of age, and 12th pass certificate or equivalent for proof of educational qualification).
4. Identity Proof:
   • Scanned copy of any one of the following identity proofs:
     • Aadhar Card
     • Passport
     • Voter ID
     • PAN Card
     • Driving License
5. Address Proof:
   • Scanned copy of any one of the following address proofs:
     • Aadhar Card
     • Passport
     • Voter ID
     • Bank Passbook
     • Utility Bill (not older than 3 months)
6. Category Certificate (if applicable):
   • Scanned copy of category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) for candidates seeking reservation benefits.
7. Disability Certificate (if applicable):
   • Scanned copy of disability certificate for candidates with disabilities seeking reservation benefits.
8. Payment Receipt:
   • Proof of payment of registration fee for the CMA Foundation exam.
9. Declaration Form:
   • Scanned copy of the declaration form duly filled and signed by the candidate.
10. Other Documents (if required):
    • Any other document specified by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) for registration purposes.
