  1. Transparent Procedure: Organizing Centers must ensure transparency in the enrolment process, providing equal opportunities to all eligible candidates.
  2. First Come First Serve Basis: Enrolment is based on a “First Come First Serve” basis, allowing candidates to register as per availability.
  3. Online Portal: The entire enrolment process is conducted online, making it convenient for candidates to register from anywhere.
  4. Timely Registration: Candidates are advised to register early to secure their spot in the course, as seats may be limited.
  5. Confirmation of Enrollment: Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a confirmation of their enrolment in the Orientation Course.

Fee Structure

The fee structure for the Orientation Course is as follows:

  • Non-Residential Basis: The fees for the course, inclusive of study material and tea/refreshment, shall not exceed Rs. 7,000 per student. This fee does not apply to students attending the course at the Dubai Overseas Office. Payment must be made through the online payment gateway; payment via Demand Draft is not permitted.
  • Batch Transfer Fee: Students who fail to inform about their absence from Mandatory Course on Concurrent ITT / Orientation Course (MCS/OC) classes at least 3 days before the course commencement may be subject to a Batch Transfer Fee of Rs. 500, effective from April 1, 2015. Candidates must pay this fee via Demand Draft in favor of Secretary, ICAI, payable at New Delhi, and send it to the Board of Studies.
  • Residential MCS Course: Branches wishing to organize a residential MCS Course must adhere to the same session plan as regular MCS Course. The fee for such programs will be Rs. 20,000 per participant.
  • Transfer of Fee: Students cannot refund the fee for the Orientation Course, but they can transfer it from one Programme Organizing Unit (POU) to another if they wish to attend a batch in another POU due to exigencies.

Penalty Clause

  • Penalty for Absence from OC Classes: Students who fail to inform about their absence from Orientation Course (OC) classes at least 3 days before the batch commencement may be subject to a penalty of Rs. 500, effective from April 1, 2015. Candidates must pay this penalty via Demand Draft in favor of Secretary, ICAI, payable at New Delhi, and send it to the Board of Studies.

Exemption for Disabled Students

Disabled students suffering from 50% or above permanent disability are exempted from paying fees and attending the Orientation Course compulsorily. These students can choose to either attend all classes or appear in two test papers of 3 hours each after a 15-day study period of the OC Study Manual. In case of opting for the tests, the Programme Organizing Unit (POU) may contact the Director, Board of Studies to obtain the test papers.

Definition of Disability

The following conditions are regarded as disabilities:

  • Physical disability, including locomotor disability and leprosy cured persons.
  • Intellectual disability, including specific learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
  • Mental illness, excluding retardation.
  • Disability caused by chronic neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, haemophilia, thalassemia, and sickle cell disease.
  • Multiple disabilities, including deaf-blindness.
  • Any other category as notified by the Central Government.

Disabled students must submit a certificate of disability, certified by a physician/surgeon/oculist working in a Government hospital.

Online Portal

An online portal for OC/MCS is operational, and all organizing centers must launch batches of the Orientation Course through the online portal www.icaionlineregistration.org only. The institute will not offer offline batches or issue certificates.

Students must use online mode for student registration, attendance, faculty allocation, feedback, and certificate generation. A user manual for the portal is available on the portal itself.

Dress Code

Students must adhere to a formal dress code as per local culture and tradition during the Orientation Course.

  • Male students: Full sleeves shirts and trousers.
  • Female students: Sarees/Salwar Kurta/Suit. While appearing before the appellate authority, students may wear a suit and tie.

General ICITSS-Orientation Course Guidelines

  • Students must complete the course without discontinuity. The Chairman/Secretary of the Organizing Centre may allow absence for a maximum of two days or four sessions in exceptional circumstances. The issuing of certificates will only occur upon completion of the course.

  • Students must maintain discipline and decorum and adhere to the specified dress code. Faculty may note misbehavior/nuisance, which could lead to withholding of the Programme Completion Certificate.
  • Participants must not bring cameras/photographs into sessions and should refrain from uploading them on social networking sites.
