CMA Registration Process (New Scheme)
1. Visit the ICMAI Website:
Go to the official website of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).
2. Click on the ‘Students’ Tab:
Navigate to the ‘Students’ tab on the website’s homepage.
3. Select ‘Course Registration’:
Under the ‘Students’ tab, select the ‘Course Registration’ option.
4. Choose the ‘Foundation’ Course:
From the list of courses, choose the ‘Foundation’ course.
5. Fill in the Registration Form:
Fill in the registration form with all the required details, such as name, address, educational qualifications, etc.
6. Upload Required Documents:
Upload scanned copies of the following documents:
- Passport-sized photograph
- Signature
- Date of Birth Certificate
- 10th & 12th Marksheet/Admit Card
- Aadhar Card
7. Pay the Registration Fee:
Pay the registration fee of Rs. 6000 online through the provided payment gateway.
8. Submit the Form:
After completing the form and payment, submit the registration form online.
9. Receive Registration Confirmation:
Once the registration process is complete, you will receive a confirmation email or SMS from ICMAI.
10. Start Preparation:
Begin your preparation for the CMA Foundation exam using the study material provided by ICMAI.

CMA Foundation Examination Pattern
Subjects and Type of Exam:
- All papers are objective type questions.
Negative Marking:
- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Mode of Examination:
- The examination is conducted in offline.
Duration:
- The duration of each paper is three hours.
Number of Papers:
- There are four papers in total.
Paper 1: Fundamentals of Economics and Management
Paper 2: Fundamentals of Accounting
Paper 3: Fundamentals of Laws and Ethics
Paper 4: Fundamentals of Business Mathematics and Statistics
Total Marks:
- Each paper is of 100 marks, making the total marks for the examination 400.

Passing Criteria:
- To pass the CMA Foundation exam, candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% marks in all papers combined.
Examination Frequency:
- The CMA Foundation exam is conducted twice a year, in June and December.
Syllabus:
- The syllabus for the CMA Foundation exam covers topics related to economics, management, accounting, laws, ethics, mathematics, and statistics.
Preparation Material:
- The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) provides study material and practice questions to help candidates prepare for the exam. Additionally, candidates can also refer to textbooks and online resources for further preparation.
Last Date for Admission and Examination Application for CMA Foundation Course For June Term Examination:
- Last Date for Admission: 31st January of the same calendar year
- Last Date of Examination Application Form: 10th April
For December Term Examination:
- Last Date for Admission: 31st July of the same calendar year
